The church building and congregation have been granted city, state and national historic designations, and a State Historical Marker.

Significant capital improvements and renovations have been undertaken, including the installation of 12 stained glass windows, encompassing over 1,500 square feet of hand-blown glass illustrating the story of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
