This apartment-hotel was opened in March 1927 along Roosevelt Park and kitty-corner from Michigan Central Station.

The building was ravaged by a Jan. 8, 1989, fire that left some 100 Detroiters homeless. It was torn down after, and the site has served as a parking lot ever since.
