The Louis Smith House, situated at 266 Erskine St., was designed by Frederick J. Winter and built in 1911.

It is included in the Brush Park Local Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Jan. 23, 1980, at a time when many of the late 19th century mansions in the neighborhood were falling to disrepair and the wrecking ball.
