The James S. Heaton House, located at 228 Eliot Street in Detroit’s Brush Park Historic District, was designed by the prominent architectural firm Donaldson & Meier and completed in 1908. On January 23, 1980, the property was officially designated as part of the Brush Park Local Historic District, recognizing its architectural and historical significance and helping ensure its preservation as part of one of Detroit’s most important historic neighborhoods.
