The Fort Street Congregational Church was founded in 1881 by officers from nearby Fort Wayne.
This church was designed for the congregation by architect James D. Butterfield, and stood on the southwest corner of West Fort and Summit streets, just west of Clark Avenue. Its cornerstone was laid Aug. 19, 1901, and the structure was dedicated April 6, 1902.
The congregation was disbanded in 1929, and, it is presumed, the church was demolished afterward.
In 1965, what is now the Apostolic Faith Temple was built on the site.
