The plot of land on which this property stands was initially purchased in 1924 but remained vacant until Dr. David Feld and his wife Barbara Meathe opted to construct a house in the 1950s.

Designed by Meathe, Kessler & Associates, the 2,700-square-foot residence features two distinct levels — the lower portion characterized by patterned brick and the upper portion adorned with stucco. Due to its sloping roof and horizontal silhouette, it has earned the nickname "The Butterfly House." In 1958, this mid-century modern gem got recognition in a design competition held by the American Institute of Architects.
