This home, on the north side of West Canfield and closest to Second Boulevard, was built in 1879 by David O. Paige, the general manager and treasurer of the Detroit Safe Co., an enormous vault and safe company in Detroit. It is thought that the home may have been designed by John Scott.
Paige resided here for many years, until the home was purchased by George W, Golden, president of the Michigan Engine Valve Co., in 1908.
