The Charles Steinberg House is an Italian Villa Revival–style residence. The asymmetrical, two-and-one-half-story buff brick house features a hip roof clad in Spanish tile, classical stone window enframements with projecting molded caps, barrel-roofed dormers, and an arcaded side loggia, now enclosed. A matching garage is located at the rear of the property.
The house is currently used by the College for Creative Studies. Prior to that, and beginning in 1948, it was home to the Fritz Funeral Home. Before that period, the residence was occupied by Prophet Jones, a nationally known African American religious figure.
