866 Virginia Park Street was built in 1911–1912 and designed by the prominent Detroit architectural firm Smith, Hinchman & Grylls for William H. Seldon Jr. The two-story brick residence reflects the upper-middle-class character of Virginia Park as the neighborhood developed in the early twentieth century.
