The house at 760 Virginia Park Street was designed by the Detroit architectural firm Pollmar & Ropes for Peter H. Zacharias and built in 1909. The substantial brick residence is part of the Virginia Park Historic District. The house later fell into serious disrepair and was once threatened with demolition, but a group of young Detroit residents purchased it through the tax foreclosure auction and undertook an extensive rehabilitation. Their restoration included new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and roofing, helping save the historic house from demolition.
