The George H. Clippert House at 743 Virginia Park Street was built in 1915 and designed by the prominent Detroit architectural firm Donaldson & Meier. Clippert was a leading Detroit brick manufacturer and president of the George H. Clippert & Brothers Brick Company, a family business that became one of the city's important brick producers. He was also a director of the Home Savings Bank, a member of the Detroit Board of Commerce, and active in civic affairs.
The substantial brick residence is part of the Virginia Park Historic District and remains an important example of the large homes built for Detroit's industrial and business leaders during the early 20th century. Current records identify the house as a 4,921-square-foot, seven-bedroom residence on a 0.3-acre lot.
